Will The Earth's Core Flip?

Scientists are currently studying the possibility of the flipping of the Earth’s core. At the University of Maryland, Geophysicists are testing a the plausibility of the flipping of the Earth's molten core using a 10 foot steel ball. The intention is to spin the orb fast enough to study when a potential flip with the hope of foretelling when our own Earth's core may flip and kill us all. Below is a video of this cool machine.
